What makes Lakadong different
Lakadong is a specific variety of Curcuma longa indigenous to the Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya, in north-eastern India. The combination of volcanic red soil, 1,000-1,300 metre altitude, cool climate, and a slow 10-month growth cycle produces a rhizome with curcumin content that routinely tests between 7% and 9% — more than double the curcumin of ordinary Erode or Salem turmeric.
We source directly from grower clusters in Jaintia Hills. Each lot is traceable to the farmer cooperative, dried under controlled conditions, cleaned and graded at our Hyderabad facility, and NABL-tested before shipment.
