Why UK buyers work with us
From 15 July 2026, the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) removes UK import duty on Indian spices — making origin documentation the deciding factor between a shipment that claims preference and one that pays the old rate. SpiceModo ships every UK consignment with a CETA-compliant proof of origin alongside the full compliance pack.
Our UK buyers are wellness brands formulating curcumin and Ceylon cinnamon products, food manufacturers supplying the curry trade, specialty retailers, and distributors serving the UK's South Asian communities. What they get from us: FSA-aligned documentation that clears Port Health without queries, coumarin numbers on every Ceylon cinnamon CoA, and ETO non-detect certificates on every lot.
What we ship to the UK
- Wellness-grade turmeric — single-origin Lakadong from Meghalaya, 7%+ curcumin, NABL-tested, steam-sterilized on request.
- Premium culinary spices — Malabar black pepper, Ceylon cinnamon, cardamom, fenugreek, coriander, cumin.
- Specialty chilli SKUs — Bhut Jolokia (ghost pepper), Kashmiri chilli, Guntur chilli.
- Retail packs — 50g, 100g, 200g with UK-compliant labels (allergen emphasis, UK nutrition declaration) and barcoding.
- Bulk export cartons — 25kg, 50kg and custom specs for private-label and foodservice buyers.
UK compliance we handle
- CETA preferential origin — proof of origin for duty-free entry under the India–UK agreement, with HS codes aligned to the UK Global Tariff.
- FSA / assimilated-law limits — aflatoxin B1 <5 ppb (total <10 ppb), ochratoxin A within limits, Salmonella absent in 25g, pesticide MRLs — all on the NABL CoA.
- ETO non-detect certificate — ethylene oxide is prohibited; every lot ships with an ND certificate.
- IPAFFS pre-notification support — we coordinate with your import agent so high-risk-category consignments are pre-notified before arrival.
- Port Health documentation — phytosanitary certificate, health certificate where required, Certificate of Origin, packing list, and commercial invoice formatted for UK Border Control Posts.
- Coumarin reporting — for Ceylon cinnamon, coumarin in ppm on every CoA (see our coumarin guide).
- UK retail labelling — allergen emphasis and UK nutrition declarations for private-label SKUs.
